Metamorphis Monday – Laundry Room Part 1

Hello everyone, welcome to Metamorphasis Monday!! Please stop by to link up with our fabulous hostess, Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for all of the details.

Today, I would like to share a couple of simple projects with you. I have been in the process of sprucing up my laundry room, or I guess I should say laundry closet!! I have been thinking of ways to make it look better and functional at the same time. I painted my cabinets this last week, but I am not quite finished just yet.

The first project is a sign. I love signs, but I have not found one yet that I like for the this room. So, I decided I would just make one! I purchased several of those great unfinished Dollar Tree plaques several months back and had not used a one yet. So, along with a plaque, scrapbook paper, decals & ribbon I had on hand and got busy. I simply printed out Laundry Room on the scrapbook paper & Mod Podged it down to the plaque. Applied the decals & made a bow.

Here is my finished sign......

As you can see I ended up using a different color ribbon than I had originally intended to use in the before photograph. I thought black went a lot better than the green.

The next project I wanted to do was a pretty detergent & softner dispenser. Not only did I want it for looks, but I also wanted to free up the space the bulky containers were taking in the cabinet. I luckly found some bottles & a tray at the church garage sale last week for $1.25!

As you can see the tray had seen better days, and the bottles did not quite say what I wanted them to say. I spray painted the tray with some paint I had on hand. I then printed out Laundry Detergent & Fabric softner on some scrapbook paper & Mod Podged in onto the bottles, and voila................

I love to repurpose items!! Once I run out of fabric softener I need to find one that has a better color suited for my room!!

I will share the rest of my laundry room projects with you next week (hopefully)!!

Do not forget to stop by & see the rest of the transformations at Between Naps on the Porch. Have a wonderful week.

I love the sign you made - you are right the black ribbon was a must... I now see garage sale items as new painted items, lol..I love the laundry soap and fabric softener bottles...so funny what you said about them needing to be the "right color" everything must match, lol !

Hi Nicole...

My friend...what fabulous projects! I just love your laundry room sign...and you're so right, if you can't find one you like...then make one you like! Hehe! I love using scrapbooking paper for projects...there is just so many pretty papers! I love the cute little frenchy designs and adding the black ribbon was the icing on the cake...it's perfect, my friend!!! You found some great finds at your Church sale...love that cute little tray and the pretty decorative bottles! This worked out so beautifully for your detergent, etc. Easy enough projects but you could never tell by the beautiful outcome!!! Fabulous!!! Thanks for sharing the great ideas and your beautiful laundry room transformations!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari

What a great idea. My LR is the first thing you walk into from the side door and it is open to the kitchen a bit and I hate to see that big plastic jug of liquid detergent. If you do not mind I am going to copy your idea and pass it along to my daughter also. Thanks for sharing so a good idea. You made me SMILE:)
